Sandstorm Beach Volleyball Membership consists of training sessions for junior boys and girls ages 10 to 18. We design our training to teach beach volleyball in a fun and safe environment.
Our Spring/Summer Sessions start in March and end in August, depending on the group.
We have different training levels. Our fall and winter sessions focus on our Elites and Mixed training levels. The training levels listed below are for our summer sessions and use age as a baseline. However, skill drives a player’s training level. Levels are fluid to allow players to move up groups as they develop.
All players must register for a Gold Membership with the AVP as part of their club activities.
Sandstorm Beach Volleyball Tryouts are Saturday & Sunday, March 11, 12, & 18 (players only need to pick one day). Dimes and Sand Slinger levels from 11 AM to 12:30 PM and Aces and Elites are from 12:30 PM to 2 PM at Leslie Groves Sand Courts in Richland (40 Park Street – Drive towards the river and look Right). They are for all age groups except for the Lil’ Diggers Group (Lil’ Diggers registration is open and available on a first-come-first-serve basis. See below for details).
Tryouts are for us to assess skill and place players in the proper groups.
We have different training levels:
The Elite Level is for experienced players able to perform advanced volleyball skills, think critically, and communicate on the court. Training will focus on competition, skill enhancement, and in-game strategy. The goal is to climb through the AVP, P-1440, and BVCA ranks at home and on the road. Placement in this group is determined by a designated Elite tryout and will be open to players in all divisions. Players who try out for this level and are not selected will move back to their regular assessed level. Some players may also be offered to move into the Elite Level as the season progresses.

This level is designed for new high school and experienced middle school players.
